台灣、中國大陸、日本、印度、馬來西亞、琉球
喬木，樹皮為黑褐色，全株帶短剛毛，嫩葉略帶紅色，長成後變成深綠色。葉互生，厚紙質，表面光滑，背面有微毛，呈倒卵形或長橢圓形，波緣或全緣，葉片較其它榕樹大，長約二十公分。為隱花果腋生，卵形或球形，熟果呈橙紅、紅棕或茶褐色，常帶有白斑，密生於樹幹基部，或分散在枝條，熟時橙紅色，故又稱為豬母乳。
嫩葉略帶紅色，長成後變成深綠色，適合種植為庭園的觀賞樹木。幹生果營養豐富是松鼠及鳥雀的最愛。另外，樹皮含豐富乳汁，可以用來製膠。
