山櫻花

落葉喬木，樹皮為茶褐色，老莖常呈片狀剝落，小枝條光滑，散生許多皮孔，葉單一互生，卵形至長橢圓形，紙質，鋸齒緣，表面為光澤綠色，背面為淡綠或略帶有白粉狀，葉柄先端有一腺體，綠色、光滑，早期會分泌汁液，吸引小螞蟻前來吸食，托葉為撕裂羽毛狀，早落；花腋生，多數，緋紅色，下垂，先開花後長葉，核果為卵形，成熟時暗紅色，種子單一，卵形或長橢圓形。
