口器

主要攝取食物的器官，不同的口器有不同的取食方法，可分為咀嚼式、刺吸式、銼吸式、舐吸式、虹吸式、咀吸式等。
  • 刺吸式(椿象)
    用以穿透動植物表皮組織吸收其體液，吸食植物體液的，如蟬、椿象，吸食動物體液的，如蚊子、虻。

  • 咀嚼式(天牛)
    用以咀嚼固體食物，草食性者大顎呈短闊塊狀或鉗狀，如蝗蟲、螽斯、天牛。肉食性者大顎強壯，如蜻蜓，有些細長彎曲，停置時可交叉，如虎甲蟲、胡蜂。
  • 咀嚼式(天牛)
  • 虹吸式(蝴蝶)
    用以吸食狹窄、深處之汁液。不用時捲曲在頭部下方，吸食時可如彈簧般伸直，直入花朵深處之蜜汁。如蝶、蛾。
